8.2.1 – Hands on – Setup & Tools

WHAT THIS LESSON CONTAINS:

• 0.6mm Crochet Hook (required)
This will be the hook you start out with.

• 0.5mm (optional)
If you buy the 3 pack (single, double, and triple hook pack) you won’t need an additional 0.5mm hook. This certainly isn’t necessary. However it’s great to have as a backup.

• Thread Pic Crochet Hook (required)
Our primary tool – this hook is sharper and more precise, therefore we don’t start training with it immediately. On the other hand, it is easier to pull the hook through the dreadlock, so it can be easier for the trainee to be more effective with this hook when starting out.

• Hair of Choice – New Extensions – Prerequisites
In the next course you’ll be creating extensions with deliberate thin spots so we’ll have something to work with for your training. You’ll need extra hair of your choice and the ability to create new extensions. I’m making the assumption that you’ve already taken the necessary courses to prepare yourself for this segment of training. If you ‘re only working with Afro Hair, course #5 is all you’ll need. If you are working with non-Afro hair you’ll want to take courses 3, 4, and 5 in linear order to set yourself up for this course.
