We just launched our training courses so we don’t have any stories from graduates yet, however we have plenty of success to share about our team. And everything that went into training our team is also in our courses, and even taken a step further with greater attention to detail. Therefore, the stories you see here have a direct correlation to the results you can expect from taking our courses and applying those skills to serving your own clients or working on your own dreadlocks!

Carlee - Dreadlock Central Team - Since 2017

Carlee’s Training Story

Carlee was our first trainee, which signified the very beginning of Dreadlock Central as a team and a brand. And let me tell you it was an interesting process… Our training process was unorganized and sporadic, but somehow we pulled it off. Needless to say, she helped us work out a lot of kinks as the first trainee. With Colby’s experience training Carlee, a highly detailed training outline was created in preparation for our next trainee.

Cole’s Training Story

Cole was the first addition to our team that was trained with a deliberate structure. We took 5 days that were organized and well laid out to give her the hands on experience she needed before we started serving clients first hand. This is what set the stage for our future training sessions. Cole is now a solid member of our team serving the Washington DC / Northern Virginia area since 2018.

Nash’s Training Story

Part of Nash’s training was making her own set of extensions, which Colby then installed. It was a great way to get her trained and give her dreadlocks at the same time. Nash takes great pride in her work and is preparing to train her first trainee with the help of our courses and Colby to guide the way. Nash serves Virginia Beach with occasional trips to NYC.

Natallia’s Training Story

We started training Natallia, and then Covid lockdowns hit… All of her training got delayed significantly. The courses we host on this website would’ve been absolutely perfect for her to practice before reopening and serving clients again. Regardless, we eventually got her fully trained and up to speed and serving clients in Baltimore, MD.

Melanie was also trained over Covid. We spent extra time one on one with her to get her fully trained. But we also had to delay her in-person client training and meet up later. Once again, these courses would’ve been a huge help to accelerate her learning process. Now she’s serving clients in the North Miami, FL area.

After being a client for several years and having 3 sets of dreadlocks either being installed or maintained by us, Aly and our team agreed that she would be a great fit to join the Dreadlock Central team. She started her training by working with our online courses first, and then we worked with her in person serving clients to give her the real world experience necessary for providing services to our clientelle.

“Love what they do! This is one of the few places in NYC that retwists locs by crotchet needle which I believe is the more effective method for maintaining locs. Even though my hair was a bit complicated, they accommodated me as best as they could. Their work was neat and not too painful. And Alysia and I bonded over music during my sessions.
