• Combining Young Dreadlocks
Working with young, loose, malleable dreadlocks is the best case scenario to combine full length – it shouldn’t be a problem – hair texture doesn’t matter as long as it’s loose.
• Combining Mature Dreadlocks
Mature dreadlocks can be incredibly difficult to combine – some will be impossible – extra hair is usually required – I prefer to avoid combining established and mature dreadlocks.
• The middle ground (for full length)
There is a range or a sliding scale of how tight or soft dreadlocks can be in various scenarios. To combine it all depends on malleability of the dreadlocks. If the dreadlocks are soft enough to crochet, go for it.
